Rylan Clark makes savage dig at Jamie-Lynn Spears ahead of I’m a Celebrity stint

Rylan Clark made a savage dig at Jamie Lynn Spears – the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears – ahead of her appearance on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

The star-studded line-up for the show, which kicks off on Sunday, 19 November, was recently revealed, with Jamie-Lynn, 32, no doubt being a big coup for ITV.

This Morning's Josie Gibson is also confirmed to be taking part, with the first part of Tuesday's This Morning being dedicated to I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Previous show stars, Vicky Pattison, Ferne McCann and Jake Quickenden spoke to Rylan and guest-presenter Cat Deeley about their appearances on previous series.

During the chat, Rylan – who is a big Britney Spears fan – poked fun at Jamie-Lynn Spears' I'm A Celeb introduction video, in which she said she's best-known for being a "singer and an actress", as he suggested she's actually best-known for being Britney's sibling.

He quipped: "It killed me when she said she’s an actress and a singer – I was like ‘are you?’"

Former TOWIE star Ferne then interjected: "I was waiting for 'and I'm Britney's sister', but I think we need to remember that she is her own individual.

"However, if I was in there, I would be going 'babe, have you spoken to your sis?' I would want to know."

She continued: "Everyone is tuning in to get the Britney scoop."

Rylan conceded: "It's a great booking, obviously because Britney has just brought out her book [The Woman in Me] and the year that she's had."

He went on to say that it seems like Jamie-Lynn is "on the promo trail at the minute" as she just finished US TV show, Dancing with the Stars.

Jamie-Lynn played Zoey Brooks on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101 and its sequel film Zoey 102, and Noreen Fitzgibbons in the Netflix romantic drama series Sweet Magnolias.

She and her older sister Britney have a famously fractious relationship, and in her recent memoir, Britney, 41, called Jamie Lynn a "total b***h" for not supporting her more.

In her book, Britney claimed she asked for help when she was forced into rehab, but her sister told her to "stop fighting it".

Ahead of her appearance on I'm A Celeb, Jamie-Lynn said: "I think this is a nice chance to show who I really am. I think my best quality is that it takes a lot to hurt my feelings; but I am impatient and my family would say I get in a bad mood a lot.

"There is literally every misconception you can have on a person about me so I don’t take any of it seriously."
