Why have one Christmas tree when you can have two, three or even four?

Instagram interiors influencers – and celebrities such as Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinch – have been sharing snaps of their multiple trees across several rooms of their pristine homes.

Research released this week by interiors brand Ginger Ray found that more than a third of us now have two or more trees in our home, with famous faces said to be behind the trend that more is more when it comes to Christmas firs and spruces.

TV star Solomon confessed on social media on November 1st that she’d already put her first tree up – in the bedroom she shares with husband Joe Swash, saying she was excited to ‘get Christmassy’.

The celebrity has since followed up elsewhere in the house with a slim frosted artificial tree and, this weekend, the family added to their collection with a visit to a local Christmas tree farm.

Solomon, 34, who has baby Belle, Rose, two, and Rex, four, with Swash as well as sons Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships, shared the moment they chopped down a real tree before installing it in their Essex home.

And Solomon isn’t the only one to embrace the trend. Mrs Hinch has been showing off her festooned trees at her stunning Essex pad.

Interiors influencer Gemma Walters, 37, from Nottingham says she’s put up three big trees in her home this year – one in her living room, one in the hall and one in the kitchen.

And in the Instagrammer’s living room, left, there’s a neutral, silver theme tree. With the kitchen, right, also home to a beautifully decorated tree for the next few weeks

The hallway tree has a gingerbread theme, says Gemma, because she wanted to make it magical for her daughter

The property valuer, who also shares photos of her gorgeous home on Instagram under the handle @ourhome_onthe_corner told MailOnline: ‘We have three main Christmas trees and one very small one.

‘Whichever room I’m in, I still want to feel Christmas is around me. We have a tree in the lounge, hallway and kitchen.

She explains: ‘Our lounge tree has baubles which are mainly from places we have visited over the years and is fairly neutral in colour.

‘The kitchen tree is a snowy dream with hints of gold. The hallway tree we have made super fun for our four-year-old girl, which is a sweet, gingerbread, candy cane theme.

And Mrs Hinch’s two trees this year are a vision of yuletide cheer. The cleaning guru, aka Sophie Hinchliffe, shared these two photos of two of the trees in her home

‘My hallway tree is very loud in colour compared to the colour scheme of our home but it’s fun and my daughter loves it. For my other two trees, I have tried to keep to the theme of our home which is quite neutral.’

Walters thinks people sharing photos of their multiple trees on Instagram has sparked the trend, saying: ‘I think social media has had a big influence on people having more than one Christmas tree along with getting trees up before December.’

A survey carried out by interiors website Ginger Ray suggests that it’s increasingly common, with almost a third of British people now putting up two or more Christmas trees. One in ten have five or more, the research found.
