MAC’s sparkly £25 Fizzy Feels lip balm is going viral – and we’ve found a £5 alternative

One of the biggest make-up hits of Christmas 2022 was MAC's Fizzy Feels lip balm – a sparkly, moisturising balm that adjusts to the pH of your lips and leaves a veil of golden shimmer behind.

Due to popular demand, MAC rereleased the lipstick again this year in two shades as part of its 2023 Bizarre Blizzard holiday collection – the original Taste For Bubbles, a rich gold, and new colour Shiver Shimmy, an iridescent purple – priced at £25. As with last year, these quickly went viral on TikTok (the hashtag #macfizzyfeelslipbalm currently has over six million views), before selling out across all retailers.

If you're gutted that you didn't manage to get your hands on this trending product don't worry, as we've found a very similar alternative that's still in stock – and for a fraction of the price.

Catrice Drunk'n Diamonds Plumping Lip Balm is another sheer, sparkly lip tint, and is available to buy now from Even better, it costs just £4.99 – that's more then £20 less than MAC's sell-out version.

This £5 Catrice balm is enriched with vitamin E, mango butter and other lip-plumping ingredients to give a healthy sheen and a comfortable feel. Like MAC's, the formula is also flecked with shimmery particles, making it perfect for Christmas and party season.

Drunk'n Diamonds comes in four pretty pinky-nude shades but you'll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on them, as like MAC Fizzy Feels, they're selling fast, as they're clearly a hit with shoppers.

"Love love love these lip balms. They are so nice on and are nice and creamy," wrote one shopper in the reviews section.

Another happy customer said: "One of my favourite balms. Lovely pigment and perfect for everyday use."

A third five-star review reads: "Moisturises lips very well, light shine, I recommend."

We think they make the perfect Christmas Day or New Year's Eve make-up addition, or last-minute stocking filler – and for just £5!

While you're shopping for beauty bargains, we recommend checking out Revolution's new £7 dupe for the Fenty highlight, plus a £9 moisturiser that shoppers are comparing to Clinique Moisture Surge.
