Q I am about to turn 50 and would like to look fresher and less tired when I look in the mirror. What do you recommend?

A Personally, I suggest combining ‘baby’ (minimally administered) versions of a number of injectable treatments; I get the best results from those without looking remotely ‘off’.

Oculoplastic surgeon and cosmetic physician Dr Elizabeth Hawkes (drelizabeth hawkes.com) has developed her own R³ (Reduce, Replace, Restore) treatment (from £2,800) that does this.

Tailored to your face and needs, she uses anti-wrinkle injections (Botox, etc.) to reduce lines, and small amounts of dermal filler to replace lost volume.

In addition, over two sessions, she administers the new bio-stimulator Ameela, an injectable collagen-booster, all over the face in a number of jabs.

This restores skin firmness and elasticity. After two weeks, your face will look juicier, lifted — and more like you looked a few years ago.

Around the country, cosmetic doctors do their own versions of this type of treatment. Prices vary, but expect to pay from £2,000 for a full face.

As always, interview several doctors and study their work to ensure they get spectacular yet undetectable results before you make a decision; you want your friends to think you’ve simply had a haircut!
