The £14 perfume dupe that 'smells nicer and lasts longer' than Marc Jacobs Daisy and will save you £56 | The Sun

IF you’ve got perfume on your Christmas list, we’ve just discovered the most incredible dupe of Daisy by Marc Jacobs.

Tis the season to splurge and despite Black Friday sales, the price of designer scents can ruin our bank balance.

Daisy is one of the most sought-after fragrances on our wish lists, among other big brands like Jo Malone, Mugler and Yves Saint Laurent.

It’s a real pinch on the purse strings, but much-loved high street stores have been dishing out some seriously good dupes.

Aldi, Poundland and Superdrug are among the swathes of cheap shops giving posh perfumes a run for their money, but Avon has blown our minds with a match of Daisy by Marc Jacobs – and it costs three times less than the real deal.

Eve Truth eau de parfum is priced at £14 for 50ml on the Avon website, and it scored full marks in The Sun’s Fabulous blind sniff test.

MAKE SCENTS?

UGGCELLENT

Fashion fans race to Home Bargains to nab Ugg slipper dupes that are£82 cheaper

Meanwhile, Daisy eau de toilette costs £70 for 50ml at Superdrug.

The description of Eve Truth on the Avon website reads: “Be true and captivate your natural self with the award-winning, media-loved Eve Truth Eau de Parfum. Amplify your authenticity with juicy pomegranate, tender peony and sweet cedarwood. It’s your spirit, your truth, your path.”

The cheap scent was among eight high street copycats I tried and tested, which aim to smell just like the pricey perfumes from top brands.

Blindfold secured, I was given a spritz of Marc Jacobs’ classic fragrance, followed by a spritz of Avon Eve Truth.

SKIRTS-GIVING

I have a big booty and hips so never wear skirts, a viral buy changed my mind

Then I had the tricky challenge of deciding which was the dupe, and which was the real deal.

Any perfume fan can sniff out Daisy in a heartbeat – but I wasn’t so sure.

With notes of wild berries, white violet and sandalwood, it’s a gift almost every lady will love.

But, after a blind sniff of Avon’s dupe, I could’ve sworn the cheap bottle was the posh pick.

Just one whiff was just as refreshing as Daisy. It boasts that zesty edge that packs a summery punch all day long – and I didn’t have to top up either.

The Avon bottle doesn’t look much like Daisy, but the scent was seriously impressive.

While Daisy features a clear and angled bottle with exciting white petals adorning the stopper, Avon goes for a more sophisticated design.

Eve Truth looks like a neatly cut, dazzling diamond with a touch of gold to make it look extra classy on your dressing table.

Shoppers agree, with tonnes of happy customers writing their reviews online.

One gushed: “Gorgeous perfume, have bought a few times. Lasts long and has a lovely strong scent for a great price. Smells like Daisy but nicer.”

A second wrote: “Tried a sample and really liked it so bought the full bottle. Colleagues at work have commented on what a lovely smell. Seems to last all day, really pleased.”

And a third commented: “Delightfully light fragrance & very good value for money.”

Eve Truth is definitely on our Christmas list.
