Chocolate lovers rush to Asda to buy Cadbury Heroes as factory error leaves them with ‘the best’ surprise inside | The Sun

IT'S finally the time of year supermarkets are stocked up on loads of festive treats, and selection boxes are a Christmas staple up and down the country.

But some Cadbury fans were left devested when they realised some tubs of Heroes were slightly different than usually and they missed out on the extra grub.

It turns out some boxes of Cadbury Heroes have two full-size Twirls, rather than the bite size ones shoppers are used to.

Posting in the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one person shared a snap of their chocolate tub with the surprise inside.

"Full size twirl bars now included in Cadbury Heroes," they captioned the picture.

This isn't the first time chocolate fans have been surprised by the larger bars in the tubs though.

Last year, Cadbury announced the change to some boxes due to an issue in it's supply chain, and it seems the issue is still ongoing.

After the picture was shared on social media loads of other Cadbury fans chimed in, and some were annoyed they didn't get the full-size bars.

One commented: "The tub I had, had the small ones in. I was disappointed."

A second agreed: "Happened last year too. But not every box had them. And it was random the amount you got as well."

"I've been through 4 boxes so far and non had any big twirls in," a third added.

But not everyone was so happy about the change and some said they prefer the mini Twirls.

"Ah, not just our tub then I don't like it, want the littles back," one fumed.

"I like the small ones better they taste better lol," someone else said.

Replying to one shopper, Cadbury said: "Due to supply chain issues, in a small percentage of Heroes tubs, we have temporarily substituted bitesize Cadbury Twirl with the slightly larger Cadbury Twirl 21g.

"This means you will still have the same amount of chocolate to enjoy in every tub!"

And a Mondelez spokesperson confirmed the change is due to supply chain issues, they said: "We’re facing the same challenges that many other food companies have reported, including supply chain disruptions which has impacted the availability of Cadbury Twirl products in our Heroes 550g Tubs.

"To ensure we can continue to bring our loyal consumers the products they know and love, we have temporarily substituted bitesize Cadbury Twirl in Heroes Tubs, to the slightly larger Cadbury Twirl 21g. This is across a small percentage of tubs produced.

"Rest assured consumers can enjoy the same amount of chocolate as before with the overall weight of Twirl remaining the same."

You can currently buy a box of Cadbury Heroes for £4.50 in Asda if you fancy seeing if yours has the surprise bars, other retailers are available.
