Robbie Williams’ application to cut down a 70ft tree has been slammed by his neighbour.

The 49-year-old reportedly applied to remove a Robinia tree at his £17.5 million London home, where he lives with his wife Ayda and their three children, in June.

He is said to have claimed that decay at the base of the tree had caused damage to his garden wall.

According to the Mail Online, permission was denied when he applied for the same thing last year due to not providing evidence of the alleged matter.

The Angel hitmaker has reportedly said he fears the tree is so diseased it may break or fall, so, thereforewants it removed for good.

He is also said to have plans to prune 14 plants in his garden, citing that they were stopping the light from reaching his Grade II listed property.

A not so impressed neighbour has hit out at Robbie over his plans, accusing him of “environmental vandalism”.

They claimed enough trees had “fallen “victim” to the father-of-three and claimed he already had permission to “chop down several trees”.

The neighbour added to the publication: “How many more does he wish to eradicate from his property?

“Trees are our friends and not our enemies. We must love them – and not to take an axe to them.”

The Mail also states that nothing can be done without the local authority’s written consent due to it being a conservation area.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Robbie for comment.

Robbie purchased the home, which is rumoured to have 47 rooms, back in 2013.

It was built by Warrington’s most famous artist Luke Fildes in the 19th century.

The musician was previously at loggerheads with his other neighbour Jimmy Page when he tried to get planning permission for an underground swimming pool.

The Led Zeppelin musician was worried the ex-Take That star’s plan for the building works would damage the structural integrity of his own house.

Five years later, however, Robbie was finally given the go ahead to extend his pool.

In 2022, the singer also requested for the walls around his house to be increased to stop onlookers looking into his garden, however, it’s unclear if he was granted permission.
