Janey Godley gives update on her Ovarian cancer
Janey Godley has shared a sad health update as she continues to battle incurable cancer
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the award-winning Scottish comedian told her 290,000 followers she has been “in hell” with pain.
“Need cheering up. Had a tough night, after my cancer treatment infusion yesterday. Neck hurts for no reason and the neuropathy in my toes is actual hell – send me pet pics here’s mine Lots of love,” alongside a heart emoji.
The 62-year-old included a picture of herself with her pet dog Honey in the post, whom she previously admitted has a ‘cute habit’ of cuddling her head and sleeping on her since her terminal diagnosis with ovarian cancer.
Fans were only too happy to oblige and added pictures of their fur babies in the comments.

Meanwhile a fan with the handle @mudjokivis chimed in with a picture of their dog watching television, commenting: “Here’s Bella watching her favourite TV programme. She’s a bit late to your party but she hopes you’re feeling a little better, and she sends you her love xx.”
This latest news comes just three months after Janey shared a positive update on her battle with the disease, when her cancer screening in July came back clear.
“My cancer scan came back clear. My breast screening came back clear. I will never be cured of ovarian cancer but I will continue to be treated for it thanks Scottish NHS and @Beatson_Charity,” she wrote.
The 62-year-old went on to say she was now off to “get a glass of champagne”.

The Glasgow native was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2021 after suffering from stomach pain, frequent urination, bloating and a sore back. She was later told she had stage three ovarian cancer following a hysterectomy.
At the time, she wrote on social media that her diagnosis had shocked her and her loved ones.
Janey explained: “It’s been quite a shock. It’s been quite a shock to all of us. My husband and Ashley (her daughter) are back at home and they are just processing all this information too.
“There are people watching this who live for years with treatable cancers and that’s what I’m hoping to do as well.
“I’d like to say I’m brave and I’m strong but I’m really, really vulnerable and frightened as well because that’s what this kind of news does to people, but I’m also optimistic. I’m going to get chemotherapy, and then whatever treatment comes after this.”
