ROLLERCOASTER fans can start to get excited with pictures revealing what they can expect when Nemesis reopens at Alton Towers next year.
The iconic ride has been closed for refurbishments since November 2022, but new photos show that the project is well on its way to completion.
Parts of the track have been replaced on the coaster which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year, while an exciting paint job has breathed new life into the ride.
All the work is being carried out behind black fencing, with signs up, telling park-goers that an "investigation" is underway and that the ride is closed due to "scientific testing".
Members of the resort's fan community site Tower Times recently shared photos of the progress of the refurbishment.
The pictures reveal a new look for the track, which had become faded and pinkish-white before the ride closed.

Now it is black, with a blood-red motif painted down the side, continuing the ride's theme of "an alien creature excavated from the ground".
The giant alien model around which the track runs has also been given a new lick of paint, making it more "lifelike" according to the community site.
They also report "scenic painting of the station" and that the "brake run has now been painted in black to match the new track".
Alton Towers have remained quiet about exactly how the ride will look once it's reopened to guests, but planning documents showed that work included track replacements, as well as other maintenance.

The new track will also be filled with sand, which will reduce noise levels coming from the ride.
Another person who shared footage of the updated site was theme park Youtuber Brzndz, who visited the park for his channel.
In the video he said: "The speed at which they're doing the project is crazy. The entire project's looking great."
He also said he had heard rumours that the eyes on the alien would move once the ride reopens.
After posting his video on X, formerly Twitter, he said: "Love the track.
"Very impressed with how the station is looking far more vibrant with the new paint job."
Another theme park fan agreed, adding: "The new track design is so cool."
Last year, the ride's designer John Wardley told Sun Online Travel that when it reopens, Nemesis would "essentially the same Nemesis that everybody loves, but even better".
He said new elements would include "more storytelling, more special effects and scenery".
The trains are also due to be updated, with John saying the ones that had been on the track until it closed had completed the equivalent of 30 times around the Earth during their time on the ride.

Meanwhile, Alton Towers is set to open a new ยฃ12.5million indoor ride, currently known as "project horizon".
And Drayton Manor is also set to open a new "thrill ride".
