Following the unveiling of YOSHIROTTEN’s interactive “FLUID GARDEN” installation in Hong Kong, the artist will be bringing his “SUN” installation to the upcoming SUMMER SONIC live music festival in Japan.
In a recent interview with Hypebeast, YOSHIROTTEN teased his involvement with this year’s SUMMER SONIC, and hinted that he will be creating “beaches, parks, gardens, and arenas across a whole street.” In the interview, the artist also noted that he will be collaborating with a handful of musicians at the music festival.
The “SUN” was first revealed back in spring at the National Stadium in Tokyo, which consisted of 365 digital images that stretched across the 2000m² space. With the help of MICUSRAT PRODUCTION, YOSHIROTTEN will bring the large-scale installation over to Makuhari New City in Chiba. From August 18 – 20, around 50 pieces of the “SUN” will be exhibited across six different venues as part of SUMMER SONIC 2023 .
