tamburins, the cosmetics label owned by Gentle Monster, has opened a brand new flagship store in Seongsu, Seoul. Dubbed the “Brooklyn of Seoul,” the buzzy neighborhood is home to chic luxury names, emerging local brands, and hipster cafés such as NUDAKE — Gentle Monster’s artistic dessert venture.
The new Seongsu-store marks tamburins’ third independent flagship location in South Korea. Embodying the theme of “Viewer in the Garden,” the store explores a new chapter of tamburins’ brand identity and the highly-curated immersive retail experience it offers. Caged in a raw, concrete framework, the store façade evokes the brand’s tough spirit and unwavering focus on its surrounding challenges. The bottom of the concrete structure offers a peek into the shop’s interior via floor-to-ceiling glass windows that give off the atmosphere of an underground cave.
Inside the new tamburins flagship store, the latest product range is presented in a mood-setting environment comparable to an art installation. Boasting an autumnal and romantic atmosphere, the shopfloor’s center area is carefully laid with dried leads and soil, accompanied by life-like sculptures and Lee Jaeheon’s paintings.
Over the weekend at the store’s official opening event, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who has been a longtime friend and brand ambassador of tamburins, also made an appearance at the newly unveiled store. The new tamburins Seongsu flagship is now officially open to the public from noon to 9 p.m. everyday.
