A GB News presenter has claimed he’s been suspended after voicing his support for Dan Wootton.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Reverend Calvin Robinson wrote: ‘I have been suspended from GB News.’
A few hours prior to his post on the social media platform, Reverend Robinson announced that he would not be appearing on Wootton’s GB News programme on Friday evening, saying that the presenter had ‘a significant part to play in building GB News’.
In a statement recently released by the channel, it was confirmed that Wootton had been suspended from his position.
‘GB News has suspended Dan Wootton following comments made on his programme by Laurence Fox last night,’ it read.
‘This follows our decision earlier today to formally suspend Mr Fox.
‘We are conducting a full investigation.’
On Tuesday evening, Fox appeared on Wootton’s show, where he made a series of remarks about journalist Ava Evans, known as Ava Santina on X (formerly Twitter), including saying: ‘Who would want to shag that?’
GB News later released a statement branding his comments ‘unacceptable’, with Fox suspended from the channel with immediate effect.
Following the backlash, Wootton released a statement on social media expressing ‘regret’ over the way in which he reacted to Fox’s remarks.
In a follow-up to his earlier apology, he wrote on X: ‘I want to reiterate my regret over last night’s exchange with Laurence on GB News.

‘Having looked at the footage, I can see how inappropriate my reaction to his totally unacceptable remarks appears to be and want to be clear that I was in no way amused by the comments.’
He continued: ‘I reacted as I did out of shock and surprise in an off-guard moment while working out how to respond as he continued to speak by searching for tweets Ava Santina had sent earlier in the day while having them read out in my ear at the same time.’
