It’s a big week for Diddy. After revealing the loaded tracklist for his first solo album in 17 years, The Love Album: Off the Grid, and permitting Bad Boy Artists access to his publishing rights, the legend is officially set to take the stage for the first time since 2005 at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards – both to perform and accept 2023’s coveted Global Icon Award.

The rapper joins the Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the 2021 and 2022 award-winners, respectively, as the third U.S. Global Icon, after the television network adapted the award from its Europe Music Awards (EMAs). Diddy joins Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, Stray Kids and Karol G. on this year’s list of performers. The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards are set to air live from New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Tuesday, September 12 at 8:00 p.m. EST, with Diddy’s The Love Album: Off the Grid hitting streaming the following Friday, September 15.
