Bamford London has once again teamed up with the anarchic French designer Romaric André, known as seconde/seconde/, to create the B347 “BAD MOF’R,” a watch that quite literally, gives the middle finger. Limited to just 50 pieces, the watch stands as a testament to the duo’s commitment to challenging norms and embracing satire in design.
The BAD MOF’R, based on Bamford London’s B347 Titanium Monopusher Chronograph, is a fusion of humor and high-quality craftsmanship. The collaboration, born from the meeting of Bamford London founder George Bamford and seconde/seconde/ founder Romaric in 2020, marks their second joint venture following the successful BAD FORM GMT.
As images in the gallery above would suggest, “BAD MOF’R,” is a play on “BAMFORD” and its design centers around a subdial at 3 o’clock. Here, instead of a conventional hand, there’s a single-fingered salute that doubles as the chronograph’s 30-minute counter. Other design features include a gradient blue dial contrasted by a white counter and a red sleeve, which highlights the red central seconds hand.
As for technicals, the Swiss Made Sellita SW510 automatic chronograph is operated by a single pusher at 2 o’clock, all encased in a 41.5mm super-light titanium casing and set on a blue Cordura strap.
“I can’t lie, I like vandalizing other people’s stuff,” said Romaric, adding”Even when George lets me do it. People are always trying to control each other and their own lives with rigid conventions, which is a kind of madness when you think about it. With this watch, I wanted to expose that. Is it disrespectful? Sure, if you think those conventions deserve too much respect. Is it offensive? If you can’t see the absurdity that surrounds us, it probably is, yes. George gets that, too, and I guess that makes us a pair of BAD MOF’Rs. I’m really happy with how the watch turned out, and I’m already looking forward to vandalizing more of his watches someday.”
The limited edition Bamford London x seconde/seconde/ B347 “BAD MOF’R” will be available for purchase later today, November 13, via the watchmaker’s official site and is priced at £2,600 GBP or $3,177 USD.
