Last month the American rock band, Bleachers, had a couple of bits of good news. The first was a new single with Lana Del Rey entitled “Alma Mater” and the second was the announcement of a new album. Now the New Jersey-born group is fueling the recent news by releasing a new music video for “Alma Mater.”

Directed by Alex Lockett, the video is a testament of love as Jack Antonoff is seen riding around with the top down through New Jersey at nighttime. Although taking place in the evening, the video is lit up with street lights, signs, construction sites and more – all thing one passes by on a contemplative night drive. “She’s my alma mater/Chasin’ lines all night (Alma mater)/Smokin’ me outta sight/Well, summer’s gettin’ hotter (Alma mater),” sings Antonoff and Del Rey in the chorus.

Aside from the moody atmosphere, what also lights up the music video are appearances from Lana Del Rey, Margaret Qualley, Clairo, Bartees Strange, Antonoff’s parents, Rick and Shira alongside Antonoff’s sister, Richel. Coming after “Modern Girl,” “Alma Mater” marks the second released single from Bleachers’ upcoming album, Bleachers, which is expected to be released in early 2024.
