DRYING your clothes outside isn't really an option with the current cold temperatures and using a tumble dryer can be costly.

Not only that, but the current cost of living crisis means more households aren't turning on their central heating as often, which can mean clothes are left to air dry for days at a time.

Luckily, one cleaning whizz has shared a few simple tricks to help speed things along.

Posting on the Instagram account @thisgirlcanorganise, the keen cleaner revealed one of the best ways to dry clothes in a hurry starts before you even take them out of the washing machine.

"Double spin for the win," she captioned the clip.

Most washing machines will have an option to 'drain and spin' – simply turn the dial to this setting and your clothes should come out less wet.

The cleaningwhizz explained: "Your clothes will come out much drier allowing them to dry quicker. Always give your clothes a quick shake before hanging to dry to remove any creases."

Next, try spacing your clothes out more on your airier.

It might seem obvious but it can make a huge difference to the time it takes clothes to dry.

More space means air can flow around items with ease, speeding upthe drying time.

Of course, there are also heated airers you can try too – these will help dry clothes quicker without the hefty heating bill.

Read our review of supermarket airers here.

The cleaning pro also suggested using a dehumidifier to help speed things up a bit.

"A Dehumidifier will remove moisture from the air allowing your clothes to dry faster whilst preventing condensation and mould in your home," she explained.

However, if you don't have a dehumidifier you could also use a fan to help circulate the air around the clothes.

"Any desktop fan can be used and its a lot cheaper than putting the heating on," the pro added.

After sharing the nifty tricks on social media other cleaning fans agreed with the hacks.

One said: "I find putting a fan on near the airer dries my laundry pretty quickly too, as it's like drying outside in windy conditions."

"Also, if you have time to turn the clothes over every hour or so that helps," a second added.

"I just ordered a dehumidifier and can't go without it now," someone else wrote.

</picture>WINDOW PAIN
