U2<\/b> have earned their 14th No. 1 on Billboard<\/i>‘s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, thanks to “Atomic City” rising 3-1 on the list dated November 18.<\/p>\n
The Bono<\/b>-fronted quartet first topped the Adult Alternative Airplay Chart in March 1997 with “Staring at the Sun” and stayed atop for seven weeks.<\/p>\n
The band’s last No. 1, “You’re the Best Thing About Me,” also topped the chart for seven weeks, starting in October 2017.<\/p>\n
With 14 No. 1s to their name, U2 surpasses Coldplay<\/b> for the most No. 1s in the chart’s history.<\/p>\n
In between “You’re the Best Thing About Me” and “Atomic City,” U2 appeared on Adult Alternative Airplay with four songs, paced by the No. 3-peaking “Get Out of Your Own Way” in 2017-18.<\/p>\n
On Alternative Airplay, “Atomic City” rises 18-15, marking the band’s top-charting song since “Get on Your Boots” peaked at No. 5 in February 2009. On Mainstream Rock Airplay, the song is ranked 35.<\/p>\n
