Survey reveals the zodiac signs most likely to be shunned by singletons &#8211; and its bad news for people born in the spring<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span>UK-based dating app Finding The One polled 1,500 singles looking for love\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>READ MORE: What are YOUR relationship &#8216;beige flags&#8217; based on your star sign?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The day you were born could be the real reason why you&#8217;re not getting hundreds of matches on dating apps, astrologers have claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>UK dating app Finding the One polled 1,500 people on their views on astrology and romance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The results show that one in four daters would instantly turn down potential dates based on their birthday &#8211; and it&#8217;s not good news if you&#8217;re a fire sign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the findings, 18% of singles would instantly cut off an Aries singleton, falling to 15% for Sagittarius, and 13% for Leos.<\/p>\n<p>But for those looking to increase their chances of a date, an optimistic outlook on astrology might help secure a partner, as 59% of women find men attractive if they take an interest in astrology &#8211; as opposed to sceptics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/06\/15\/76250583-12602407-image-a-32_1696601587639.jpg\" height=\"410\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>New Dating app, Finding The One, polled 1,500 singles on their thoughts about astrology and romance<\/p>\n<p>Aries starsigns are known to be natural born leaders, but astrology reckons they can also be short-tempered and impatient &#8211; which may explain the high rejection rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carly, 31, from Bristol, who took part in the study said: &#8216;I&#8217;m yet to meet an Aries who isn&#8217;t brutally blunt, and as a particularly sensitive Pisces that&#8217;s something I actively try to avoid \u2013 it just makes sense to swipe left.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;When I&#8217;ve gone out with signs that are considered compatible with mine, there&#8217;s a natural flow and understanding that makes things feel effortless when we meet up.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While daters tend to avoid the Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo signs, Pisceans are in luck &#8211; as those born between\u00a0February 19 and March 20 are the least likely to be rejected based on their star sign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lizzie, a 33-year-old singleton from Cornwall currently on the waiting list for the app, has recently become a follower of astrology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8216;Admittedly, astrology has played quite a big role in my dating decisions, especially more recently.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was a complete sceptic but during the pandemic I found myself with some extra time \u2013 like everyone else, I suppose \u2013 and decided to read up on it. Plus, it didn&#8217;t help being single and alone during lockdown.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/06\/15\/76251469-12602407-image-a-33_1696602593323.jpg\" height=\"421\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The results found that one in four singles would instantly turn down potential dates based on their star sign\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I wouldn&#8217;t say I&#8217;ve totally put my faith in star signs, but I just don&#8217;t think we should completely dismiss it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Having read up on character traits for each zodiac, I looked into where some of my friends and exes fall \u2013 the descriptions really hit the nail on the head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And since my love life is lacking right now, I&#8217;m willing to give anything a go.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>But while the research found women tend to prefer men with an interest in astrology, 65% of men find women keen on star signs a total turn off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Which star signs are avoided the most on dating apps?\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>1. Aries &#8211; 18%<\/p>\n<p>2. Sagittarius 15%<\/p>\n<p>3. Leo 13%<\/p>\n<p>4. Scorpio 10%<\/p>\n<p>5. Capricorn 9%<\/p>\n<p>6. Cancer 7%<\/p>\n<p>7. Libra 7%<\/p>\n<p>8. Virgo 6%<\/p>\n<p>9. Taurus 5%<\/p>\n<p>10. Gemini 4%<\/p>\n<p>11. Aquarius 4%<\/p>\n<p>12. Pisces 2%<\/p>\n<p>Relationships expert for FindingTheOne.com, Sylvia Linzalone, said: &#8216;If you ask a scientist about whether they believe in astrology and star sign compatibility, you&#8217;ll almost definitely get a negative response.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Technically, it&#8217;s not a science but star sign compatibility offers a huge sense of hope and optimism for a lot of people.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;s comforting to think that the universe might be conspiring to bring two compatible individuals together, and this belief adds a little bit of magic and destiny to the dating journey, making it feel less daunting and more exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;However, what I would say is that it&#8217;s important to keep an open mind when it comes to dating.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Just because you&#8217;ve found yourself in a relationship that ended badly with an Aries, doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean they&#8217;re all bad \u2013 it&#8217;d be wrong for all of them to be tarred with the same brush based on when they were born.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Just remember, you can use it as a tool for finding someone special but don&#8217;t let someone&#8217;s star sign be a deal breaker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There&#8217;s only one real way of seeing if you&#8217;re compatible \u2013 by meeting face-to-face and seeing if there&#8217;s a spark!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>It comes after an astrologer has revealed the most compatible star sign pairings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Australian astrologer Rose Smith said the stars can tell us a lot about compatibility in our relationships, and whether we are likely to have a happy or turbulent time with our significant other.<\/p>\n<h3>Which signs are most compatible with one another?<\/h3>\n<p><span>Aries (March 21 to April 19)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Aries is a masculine or &#8216;yang&#8217; fiery cardinal sign meaning Arians are generally active, passionate and independent with strong opinions. They need partners who understand them and don&#8217;t try to dampen their fiery nature. Fire signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius can make good partners however, arguments are quite likely. Air signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius feed fire but Libra is opposite to Aries on the zodiac wheel so this match could bring difficulties. Gemini is a good bet.<\/p>\n<p><span>Taurus (April 20 to May 20)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Taurus is a feminine &#8216;yin&#8217; earthy fixed sign.
