{"id":82955,"date":"2023-09-16T12:19:41","date_gmt":"2023-09-16T12:19:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/happylifestyleinc.com\/?p=82955"},"modified":"2023-09-16T12:19:41","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T12:19:41","slug":"hugh-jackman-and-wife-deborra-lees-relationship-as-they-announce-divorce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/happylifestyleinc.com\/entertainment\/hugh-jackman-and-wife-deborra-lees-relationship-as-they-announce-divorce\/","title":{"rendered":"Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee&#039;s relationship as they announce divorce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/SEI_171760313-0e85.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman have announced their divorce after 27 years of marriage.<\/p>\n<p>The Marvel star, who is set to reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3, confirmed the news on Friday in a joint statement with his wife.<\/p>\n<p>They wrote: \u2018We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The couple had been together for almost 30 years and welcomed two children together.<\/p>\n<p>But how did Hugh and Deborra-Lee meet and what did their relationship look like?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1995 \u2013 Hugh and Deborra-Lee meet and become engaged<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>The Logan star and fellow actress Deborra-Lee first met in 1995, while working together on Australian mini-series Correlli.<\/p>\n<p>Hugh played prisoner Kevin Jones, who is paired with prison psychiatrist Louisa Correlli, played by his future wife Deborra-Lee.<\/p>\n<p>Years later, Hugh told the Sunday Today Show he \u2018knew two weeks in to meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>It appears this was true, as just months later Hugh got down on one knee and proposed.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1996 \u2013 Hugh and Deborra-Lee marry in Australia<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>One year after first meeting, Hugh and Deborra-Lee married in their native Australia on April 11, 1996.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony took place in St John\u2019s, Victoria, a suburb of the city of Melbourne, with Debora wearing an off-the-shoulder white jumpsuit with a train and choker necklace rather than the traditional dress. <\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Hugh shared a throwback snap from the big day to celebrate their anniversary, saying \u2018being married to you Deb is as natural as breathing.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2000 \u2013 Hugh and Deborra-Lee welcome their first child<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Hugh and Deborra-Lee did not have biological children, with the couple struggling with IVF and going through several miscarriages.<\/p>\n<p>They adopted a son, who they named Oscar Maximilian, in 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Oscar is now 23 years old.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2005 \u2013 Hugh and Deborra-Lee welcome their daughter Ava<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>In 2005, they adopted daughter Ava Eliot, now 17.<\/p>\n<p>Hugh has often spoken proudly of his family, previously telling the Herald Sun: \u2018I don\u2019t think of them as adopted \u2013 they\u2019re our children. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018We feel things happened the way they are meant to. The Show on tour in 2019, and at its final stop had a surprise in store for Deborra-Lee, who was in the audience.<\/p>\n<p>He walked from the stage to her seat, singing Frank Sinatra\u2019s All The Way \u2013 the song they danced to at their wedding.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2021 \u2013 The couple celebrate 25 years of marriage<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In 2021, Hugh and Debora-Lee marked 25 years of marriage \u2013 their silver wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>He celebrated the occasion with a heartfelt post on Instagram with a snap from their wedding day. <\/p>\n<p>In a caption, he wrote: \u2018Being married to you Deb is as natural as breathing.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He went on: \u2018In our 25 years \u2013 our love has only grown deeper. The fun, excitement and adventure more exhilarating; the learning even greater. I\u2019m forever grateful to share our love, our life \u2013 and, our family together. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019ve only just begun.
