Paris Jackson felt compelled to mark her late father Michael Jackson\u2019s birthday publicly \u2013 after receiving death threats for previously not doing so.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nThriller singer Jackson died in 2009 at the age of 49 following an accidental drug overdose and would have turned 65 on August 29 this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fans, celebrities and family members paid tribute to the late musician with messages online and his daughter Paris, 25, was one of them this year after previously choosing to honour his birthday privately.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In an Instagram video, she explained that her dad wasn\u2019t even a fan of celebrating birthdays, saying: \u2018So today\u2019s my dad\u2019s birthday, and back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday, wishing him a happy birthday, celebrating it, nothing like that.<\/p>\n
\u2018He actually didn\u2019t want us to even know when his birthday was because he didn\u2019t want us to throw a party. If you don\u2019t wish someone a happy birthday via social media, it apparently means that you don\u2019t love them, you don\u2019t care about them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018There have been times where I don\u2019t post anything for my dad\u2019s birthday, and people lose their f****** minds. They tell me to kill myself.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Paris then shared a clip of herself on stage while opening for rock band Incubus at the Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park in Grand Junction, Colorado, earlier that day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She received cheers as she announced to the crowd that it was her dad\u2019s 65th birthday, and said: \u2018He put 50 years of blood, sweat and tears and love and passion into doing what he did, so that I can stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone, so I owe everything to him.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
In her Instagram stories, she added: \u2018Please don\u2019t use a man you have never met as an excuse to abuse, manipulate, and harass his daughter (who you also have never met).\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Paris was supported by her followers, including comedian and actor Marlon Wayans who commented: \u2018F**k them! Honor YOUR DAD the way you seem fit.. DAUGHTER.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Paris\u2019 brothers Prince Jackson, 26, and Blanket \u2018Bigi\u2019 Jackson, 21, were seen out and about together in Las Vegas. The siblings stopped to sign autographs and take photos with fans as they attended a Michael Jackson-themed Cirque du Soleil performance at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jackson shared his children with ex-wife Debbie Rowe, who he was married to from 1996 to 2000.<\/p>\n
