A LEGOLAND Discovery Centre employee has shared the top tips every family should use to make the most of their next visit.

Planning a day out can take a lot of work, but an expert has revealed how families can make the most out of their visit to the Legoland Discovery Centre.

The indoor Lego attraction, which has locations in both Birmingham and Manchester, has been described as a smaller version of Legoland Windsor.

The Legoland Discovery Centre has its own rides and attractions including Kingdom Quest, a 4D cinema, and a virtual reality experience.

Despite being open seven days a week, the Legoland Discovery Centre can get very busy during the weekends.

Michelle Oakes, Lego Master Model Builder at the Birmingham Discovery Centre, told Sun Online Travel: "On really busy days, it can get quite full.

"Days when it's not so busy are obviously during the term time, but if you and your kids have a Friday afternoon off, that's also a good time to come.

"My best advice is to come here for when doors open because that's when we're at our quietest."

Visitors to the Legoland Discovery Centre will be able to experience a handful of rides and other attractions.

One of those is Kingdom Quest where visitors will need to help save the captured princess by shooting a series of villains.

</picture>

</picture>

</picture>

</picture>

Michelle, who has worked at the centre for five years, added: "On this ride, families can have some fun and shoot at the targets, and it's almost important to get competitive because there's a scoreboard at the end."

Other rides include Merlin's Apprentice Ride.

Michelle added: "Then, you go through the Miniland, which includes some of Birmingham's biggest landmarks."

In addition to the rides, there are also three different 4D films that are shown every 20 to 30 minutes.

According to Michelle, the 4D films are bespoke to the Legoland Discovery Centre, so they're a must for Lego fans.

Michelle said: "After you've done all of this, you can go into the creative workshop, which people can book as an additional extra when they buy their ticket."

In the creative workshop, Master Model Builders teach visitors how to build Lego models.

Michelle added: "The Master Model Builder will stand at the front of the room, and build the model in real-time with step-by-step instructions.

Other attractions include the VR Race Experience, a soft play area, and the Lego Racers Build and Test area.

Michelle said: "Inside the Build and Test area, there are lots of car parts and pieces that visitors can use to build race cars, monster trucks, and just everyday family saloons.

"Everyone enjoys this area because of the collorabtion between the parents and the children.

"It's a great area to make good memories with young children because you have the creative element."

While the rides and attractions are well sign-posted throughout the Discovery Centre, there are some features families could accidentally skip.

Michelle said: "I think families could potentially miss the character meet and greets, especially if they're busy in other areas.

"They could also miss the cinema showings too, as they may not realise there are three different 4D films."

The Legoland Discovery Centre in Birmingham is also recruiting two assistant builders to help build LEGO displays, run workshops, and build their own creations too.

Michelle added: "Our job advert is closing this week, but we're still welcoming new applicants.

"Once we've gone through the applications, candidates will be asked to submit a video of themselves completing a themed build challenge."

"We're looking for someone who is really positive, energetic, and enthusiastic about Lego."

Applications to become a Master Model Builder close at the end of the week, and anyone interested in applying should visit the website, here.

The Legoland Discovery Centre is situated in the heart of Birmingham with entry tickets costing £12.50 for an adult and child combo ticket.

One mum recently shared her day out to the Legoland Discovery Centre, which she described as "such a good place to take your child in Birmingham."

Other nearby attractions include The National Sea Life Centre, while the Bullring shopping centre is just a short walk away.

Surreal UK beach where you can explore abandoned buildings and clear blue seas
