Dr Hilary Jones has let us into the secret of just how he keeps himself looking young after many people were shocked at his age reveal.<\/p>\n
The ITV favourite, who regularly appears on Good Morning Britain and Lorraine, recently celebrated a landmark birthday.<\/p>\n
In June, he was appearing on GMB when it was announced that he was turning 70 which took many by surprise, including his colleagues.<\/p>\n
\u2018Never I don\u2019t believe it, no,\u2019 declared Richard Madeley, 67, while a stunned \u00a0Susanna Reid, 52, joked: \u2018I want what he\u2019s having!\u2019<\/p>\n
The modest TV medic quipped in response: \u2018Make-up is brilliant these days, isn\u2019t it? Hides all the wrinkles and everything.\u2019<\/p>\n
He\u2019s now revealed more of his secrets in a new interview. Excuse us, while we dig out a notebook and pen. <\/p>\n

\u2018I felt very flattered that people were surprised that I was 70 \u2013 I put it down to make-up,\u2019 he began.<\/p>\n
If you see us in Boots at the makeup counter then you know why.<\/p>\n
He continued to\u00a0Best Magazine: \u2018And also exercise, over the years. But I don\u2019t think of myself anything like that age, I think of myself at 25.\u2019<\/p>\n
He also credits his big family for keeping him youthful.<\/p>\n
\u2018Having five kids and surrounding myself with young people, and keeping up to date with the news, helps to establish that mindset of youth. <\/p>\n
\u2018I never really want to grow up properly \u2013 I\u2019m far too immature for that,\u2019 he concluded.<\/p>\n

Dr Hilary also revealed how he celebrated the milestone, and he had not one, not two but three parties! This is because he celebrated separately with family, friends and then ITV.<\/p>\n
\u2018I was really spoiled that week,\u2019 he proclaimed. <\/p>\n
It isn\u2019t over either as he\u2019s planning a big family holiday later in the year to continue the good vibes. You only turn 70 once!<\/p>\n

Back in June, viewers were keen to express their disbelief at his age and wish him a happy birthday.<\/p>\n
\u2018Happy 70th Birthday to a doctoring legend Hilary, you have helped so many people over your years as the Doctor in morning TV, you\u2019re a credit to your profession & who doesn\u2019t look his age,\u2019 they wrote.<\/p>\n
While someone else joked: \u2018Dr Hilary looks younger now than he does in that compilation!\u2019 after watching a montage of his time on ITV.<\/p>\n
Dr Hilary was featured regularly on GMTV from 1989 as the health and medical advisor.<\/p>\n
When ITV shook up their morning broadcasts with the introduction of Daybreak and Lorraine in 2010 \u2013 followed by Daybreak\u2019s replacement GMB in 2014 \u2013 Dr Hilary stayed on as Health Editor.<\/p>\n
