You need to book a trip to Turkey this summer – as plummeting lira means you get hundreds more for your holiday

BRITS wanting to book their next holiday abroad should take a closer look at Turkey if they want to get the most for their money.

A recent study found that Brits will get hundreds more for their cash if travelling to the country due to the strong pound against the Turkish lira.

Travel money provider FairFX has found that the pound is up 146 per cent against the Turkish lira since January 2020, meaning you will get more for your money when heading there on holiday.

Not only that, but Brits buying Turkish lira ahead of their holidays has doubled between January and February, meaning Turkey is high in demand for Brits heading there this Easter.

Jack Mitchell, Head of Travel Money said: "Turkey is the destination offering Brits incredible value for money, as the pound is up 146 per cent against the Turkish lira since early 2020, which amounts to a staggering £594 more for your every £1,000 exchanged now than in 2020."

He advised any families planning an Easter trip to Turkey to buy cash when the pound is strongest so it goes further during the holiday.
