U.S. President and First Lady Donald and Melania Trump Test Positive for COVID-19

United States President and First Lady Donald and Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19.

POTUS confirmed the news via Twitter, writing, “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

The pair were tested after close presidential adviser Hope Hicks tested positive for coronavirus. She travelled with President Trump on Air Force One several times this week, including his trip to Cleveland for the debate.

“The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence,” White House physician Sean Conley said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, people exposed to the virus should stay home and quarantined for 14 days. The President and First Lady’s 14-day quarantine will end October 15 — the second presidential debate between Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

In case you missed it, COVID-19 has now taken 1 million lives.
