When it comes to booking a holiday, there's a wealth of advice available out there on how to find the top holiday deals.
It can feel difficult to sift through and find the advice that really helps – which is why when someone who's worked in the travel industry shares their tips, we pay attention.
To give holidaymakers a helping hand, international travel money specialists Equals teamed up with a panel of travel insiders to get their booking tips and secrets – and that included finding out the day you could bag some of the best deals.
A travel advisor, who formerly worked for Thomas Cook, revealed that when it comes to booking a package holiday, you might want to look out for deals on Mondays.
They explained: "Booking a holiday on a Monday can sometimes help you get a better deal, as prices are sometimes dropped to try and entice customers who’ve had quotes at the weekend but not completed a booking."
However, this is for package deals only – they advise that if you're after flights only then you may want to hold off for an extra day or two.
They added: "When it comes to flights, Tuesday or Wednesday is usually the cheapest day for scheduled flights and as a general rule, you’ll usually get a better price on mid-week options as prices are hiked for weekends."
If you are booking a package deal, make sure to check that your holiday is ATOL protected as, should the firm or airline go bust, it will mean you are able to either continue with your holiday or get your money back – you can find out more in our ATOL protection guide.
Oh, and if you're looking to make your journey that extra bit special, the panel also featured a group of flight attendants who revealed the ways to actually get a cheap upgrade from economy to business or first class.
