I flew to a European city and had a spa day for less than £40 – it was so much cheaper than the UK | The Sun

A MAN revealed how he was able to fly to Budapest to visit the thermal baths for less than a spa day in the UK.

Callum Ryan, 22, challenged himself to fly to Budapest in Hungary and visit a thermal bath for less than a UK spa day.

He shared the cheeky trip on his TikTok account after he spotted a spa day in the UK for £40.

So he booked a flight from London Stansted to Budapest with Wizzair at a cost of £17.

After spending the night in the city, he went to the Thermal Baths in Budapest early the next morning.

The entry ticket cost him 9,400 Hungarian forints (£22.12).

Callum, from Milton Keynes, told South West News Service: "I have been with my friends before and I had a pleasant time there, so I thought it would be great to go back and experience it again.

"I went early in the morning as the spa can get really busy but I did forget to bring a towel with me – so I had to drip dry but other than that it would have been alright."

The video has already had more than 30,000 views but some viewers have been left divided over the price challenge.

While one person wrote: "You’re literally the king of travel hacks."

Another user added: "Teleported yourself to and from the airport too for free."

Callum flew out on April 17, 2023. He stayed overnight and flew back on April 18.

In his video, Callum didn't reveal how much he paid for his overnight stay, or his return flight, as well as any other additional expenses he might've incurred on his cheeky trip.

This isn't the first time that Callum has set himself a budget travel challenge.

Earlier this year he revealed how he flew to Italy to get a pizza – and it still cost less than a Domino's even with his flight.

He paid just £8 for a last-minute plane ticket from London Stansted to Milan.

In the video, he showed how he packed lightly with just a small backpack before boarding his Ryanair flight – and lucked out when no one sat next to him.

In a follow-up video, he then headed to a local restaurant in Milan, where he paid just €8.50 (£7.50) for a margarita pizza and another €2.50 (£2.22) for service charge.

Adding that to the flight, it means he paid just £17.72 – cheaper than a medium Domino's pizza which costs £19.99.
