Disney announced that it was building a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction in Disneyland, California, back in August 2015 – and fans have been champing at the bit for it to open ever since.

When it finally does open, in June, it surely will have been worth the wait – because according to one claim, one of the star attractions of the themed land will be almost half an hour long.

The ride, called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will see guests thrust into the middle of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order.

Composer John Williams has created brand new music for the attractions, which is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

A Star Wars: Galaxy Edge land will also open at Disney Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida in the late autumn.

The ambitious new attractions are part of a $2billion (£1.43billion) investment by Disney in its theme parks.

Once completed, it will include approximately 10,000 tons of structural steel and 200,000 square feet of hand-carved rock work.
