TikTok users have been left horrified after a woman shared a video of herself cleaning a fridge which had not been opened for three years.

Auri Kananen, 29, from Tampere, Finland, who calls herself ‘the world’s best cleaner’, documented her process of cleaning out the fridge in a viral TikTok that’s amassed over 70m views.

Wearing gloves and a face mask, Auri opens the fridge and finds it full to the brim with mouldy food.

She then proceeds to pull out all the individual items, which included a decomposing carton of eggs, a packet of ham which had turned brown and a carton of yoghurt coated in a brown liquid.

After emptying the contents of the fridge, she filmed herself scraping a thick brown layer off of the bottom trays before scrubbing away the remainder.

Auri has been cleaning people’s houses for over two years, offering her services for free to help those who are struggling with mental health issues.

Giving insight into the state of the wider home, she said: ‘The homeowners were hoarders and the fridge hadn’t been opened in three years and it wasn’t even on anymore.

‘Since they hadn’t been able to access the kitchen in three years, the food in the fridge was over three-years-old.’

The fridge was full of mouldy food items with Auri explaining it had been left for three years without being turned on. By the end, the so-called ‘world’s best cleaner’ had managed to make the fridge look almost new

But while the fridge left viewers horrified, Auri says she found it more interesting that anything else.

She continued: ‘When I opened it, it didn’t smell as bad as you would think. But it was so interesting taking the stuff out since everything was so mouldy and old.

‘There was a bag of salad that had turned into brown liquid and I thought that that was quite cool.

‘Obviously the bottom of the fridge was so lovely and dirty. It was the best fridge I have ever cleaned.’

Auri began by removing the contents of the fridge, including a packet of ham, saying the viewers: ‘Ham for your bread?’

Auri, dubbed the ‘Queen of Cleaning’ by her followers, was able to get the fridge looking almost brand new but viewers were left horrified by the state she found it in.

‘Not me holding my breath,’ one person commented on the video, which has amassed over 71.4m views.

Another person wrote: ‘I’d be wearing full protective gear before cleaning this.’

‘I held my breath watching this even though I knew I couldn’t smell it through the phone,’ added someone else.

TikTok users were horrified at the sight of the inside of the fridge before it was cleaned, with one saying: ‘I would throw the whole fridge away’

Someone else wrote: ‘I would throw the whole fridge away.’

‘Just throw the house away and begin again lol,’ someone else commented.

‘I would have gloves up to my elbows for that fridge,’ another critic wrote.

One person said: ‘Apron and gloves ain’t enough for me I’d wear a hazmat suit.’

Auri also revealed how she tackles such extreme cleans.

Auri Kananen, 28, from Tampere, Finland, (pictured) has amassed more than 8million followers on TikTok for sharing videos of her cleaning peoples’ houses

She said: ‘At first I always take a good glance around and see all the wonderful things I can find under the trash.

‘It’s like going to the restaurant and taking a good look at the menu and thinking about all the delicious things you’re going to eat, that’s how I feel about cleaning!

‘Then I start by collecting the trash, then I usually clean the kitchen or bathroom, depending on which one is the dirtiest.

‘Lastly I buy some nice things for the tenants.’
