Woman spots humiliating mistake on CV after failing to get a job for months

It’s something we’ve all worried about – sending your CV to a possible employer without realising that there’s a glaring mistake on the page.

Unfortunately, one woman experienced just that and her mistake was shared on Reddit.

A bloke shared the story of how his girlfriend’s chances of getting a new job were ruined because she didn’t double check her resume.

She asked her partner to save her CV to his computer, but he didn’t spot that his laptop changed the name on her CV to her username.

Have you ever found an embarrassing mistake on your CV? Tell us in the comments…

When the lad realised what had happened it became very clear why his girlfriend hadn’t had a job offer in three months.

The bloke even posted a screen shot of the unfortunate mistake on Reddit.

He said: "Obligatory, this happened three months ago and we finally [realised] what happened today.

"One day while my girlfriend was at work she asked me to go on her computer which was open at home.

"All I had to do was re-save her resume in a new file titled "gf's resume".

He continued: "Simple right? Wrong… Whilst saving said resume, her computer thought it would be funny to change the name header back to the profile user name.

"PRINCESS BANANA HAMMOCK, which was then shortened to Princess Banana Hamm due to spacing.

"Neither of us noticed. Fast forward to today, she goes to update her resume to apply for a new job and there it was.

"The bane of her existence.

“We both immediately [realised] why she hasn't been getting called back for any interviews.”

The bloke added: "Needless to say she's not too impressed with me right now & I'm not allowed to do anything on her computer for her ever again.

"Happy holidays, at least next year she might get some calls back."

Yikes!

We hope the correction to her resume lands this woman a new role soon!
