Beyoncé is certainly no stranger to doing the unexpected, whether it’s headlining Glastonbury, dropping albums without warning or, in the case of her latest project, creating a “visual album” for subscription channel Disney+.
The film Black Is King is inspired by the lessons taught in The Lion King – Beyoncé voiced the character Nala in the 2019 live animation version – and is a visual masterpiece from start to finish. Aside from the exotic locations, colourful costumes and, of course, incredible tunes, we couldn’t help but notice the singer’s gorgeous glowing skin – and we’re crazy in love with it.

Fortunately her make-up artist Rokael Lizama has just revealed the secret – he used Iconic London Illuminator, £30 here, on the star in the film.
The cult favourite liquid highlighter comes in five shades and is packed full of super shimmery pigment. It can be used straight on the skin for full-on shine or mixed into your base for a subtle all-over illumination – or, as Rokael explains, even combined with other products.
“I wanted to make sure that the skin was very dewy so I used Iconic London’s Illuminator Glow Drops. I mixed them with a bit of oil to sheer them out a little to give that dewy skin effect,” he explains on Instagram.
And Beyoncé isn’t the only celebrity fan of this product. Khloe Kardashian, J.Lo and Chrissy Teigen have all used and loved this glow-booster, while reality stars Charlotte Crosby, Olivia Bowen and Sophie Piper have all recently declared their love for the brand Iconic London.
