The supermarket's £1.50 Pea and Spinach and Roasted Carrot and Chickpea dips contain milk which isn't clear from the label.
The 182g dips pose a serious risk for anyone with a milk allergy or who is lactose-intolerant.
Shoppers are being asked to return packs with use by dates between November 1 and November 8 to their local Tesco for a full refund.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA), which issued the alert, said the wafers are a "possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents".
Symptoms of a milk allergy include hives, vomiting, an upset stomach and even anaphylaxis – a rare and potentially life-threatening reaction which prevents breathing and sends the body into shock.
Meanwhile consuming milk when you are lactose-intolerant can cause nausea, diarrhoea, bloating, cramps and flatulence.
No other Tesco products are known to be affected.
The dips aren't listed for sale online at the moment.
The FSA advises shoppers not to eat the dips if they have bought a pack.
Meanwhile chocolate cornflake bites sold at Iceland have been urgently recalled over fears they may contain salmonella.
And chocolate wafers sold at Morrisons have also been recalled because they could trigger potentially fatal allergic reactions as they contain milk that's not on the label.
