The vouchers need to be spent by 29th February and are worth up to triple their value when used with one of the 150 Reward Partners.

The company is urging parents to check before half term, as families could make the most of their Clubcard vouchers on days out entertaining the kids.

The supermarket claims the total value of the UK’s unused Clubcard vouchers could cover the cost of 4.25 million pizzas from Pizza Express or 1.4 million day tickets for Thorpe Park.

Misplaced paper vouchers can also be checked in the Clubcard app, which is available on smartphones from iTunes or on Google Play.

How does the Tesco Clubcard work?

Tesco said: “Clubcard members can collect points when shopping in-store and online, and Tesco will turn these into vouchers to help save on future shops, days out and much more.

“Members will receive one point for every pound spent, making Clubcard the most generous grocery scheme available.

“You can check the number of points and vouchers you have – and present them for scanning at the till – all via the easy-to-use Clubcard app. Vouchers are valid for two years and can be used for shopping trips online and in-store.”

Martin Lewis has explained how to save money with the Tesco Clubcard.

His advice came as Tesco launched its new card. The new savings system from the supermarket is a subscription called Clubcard Plus.

Martin said: “Tesco’s launching a new Clubcard Plus subscription service on 8 November, which gives perks like discounted shopping for a monthly fee of £7.99.

“You’d also get the usual benefits of the Clubcard scheme, which won’t be changing – so you can still earn points on spending and boost them to triple their value.”

As well as building up points in the same way as those with the standard Clubcard, Martin said there will be extra benefits for those willing to pay.
