Sainsbury’s reveals exact dates to book Christmas delivery slots | The Sun

SAINSBURY'S has revealed when shoppers will be able to bag themselves a Christmas delivery slot – and it's sooner than you think.

The supermarket giant is prepping for the festive period early this year as shoppers look spread the cost as the cost of living bites.

Only posh, online supermarket Ocado has opened its Christmas delivery slots so far, meaning you're still in with a chance of bagging a slot.

They usually get snapped up quickly, so make a note of when you can sign up to get a delivery from your preferred supermarket.

You'll be in with a better chance if you pay for a delivery pass as members are given priority at Christmas.

If you miss out on a home delivery slot, you might have more luck with click and collect, so it's worth checking when the time comes.

What is a Sainsbury's delivery pass and how does it work?

Sainsbury’s offers delivery passes so customers who order online don’t have to pay for each individual drop-off of groceries to their door.

Tesco, Asda and Morrisons also offer delivery passes to shoppers.

The supermarket offers three types of passes – a monthly, a six month and a 12-month pass.

An anytime delivery pass entitles you to free delivery on any day of the week when you spend £40 or more.

This pass costs £80 for 12 months, £40 for six months or £7.50 for a monthly pass.

A midweek delivery pass entitles you to free delivery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays when you spend £40 or more.

Any deliveries outside of these times will be charged at the delivery rate as advertised on the Sainsbury's website.

This pass costs £40 for 12 months, or £4 for a monthly pass.

You should only consider taking out a delivery pass if you order groceries online regularly.

Existing Sainsbury's customers can buy a delivery pass online on the supermarket's website.

If you don't already have an account, new customers will need to set one up online.

It is free of charge, but you will need to wait 34 hours until you can purchase a pass.
