We’ve been together for two years and now he just wants to go drinking and do adult things.
He says my little son is spoiled and badly behaved, which is not true.
I am 28 and my partner is 41. My son is nearly six.
He play-fights with my son and winds him up. If my son goes over the top, all hell breaks out – and he gets the blame. My boyfriend storms out and won’t speak for days.
We have a holiday booked and my boyfriend says he’ll go but he wants us to do separate things. He doesn’t seem to feel how he did.
DEIDRE SAYS: Sit down your boyfriend and say it is normal for kids to go too far when they are excited, as they haven’t yet learned the rules. It is up to adults not to wind them up too much.
Tell him you love him but your son’s welfare comes first. If something has changed for him, he should talk about it with you, not take it out on your son.
