Mum’s horror at ‘pins found in new baby clothes’ while dressing nine-week-old

A horrified mum claims she found PINS embedded in new baby clothes while dressing her nine-week-old son.

Ellie Grainger, 21, lay her son Theo down to get dressed in the new baby suits purchased from M&Co.

She is now speaking out about the terrifying moment in a bid to make other parents aware of what could be hidden in their babies clothing, reports the Daily Record.

Ellie said: “Theo is just nine weeks old. I purchased a pack of sleep suits a couple of weeks ago.

“I never opened them at first because he was still a little bit too small for them.

“When he was finally big enough, I found pins embedded in them that could’ve done some serious damage if I hadn’t found them.

“I went to lay Theo down on his changing mat and noticed a pin sticking out of one of the garments.

“Luckily, Theo wasn’t harmed but I’d hate to think other mums and babies are at risk."

Ellie bought the sleep suits in M&Co in Elgin.

The chain have now launched an urgent investigation.

When she complained to the shop, they sent her a £30 voucher and asked her to return the pins, sleep suits and packaging.

Ellie, of Mosstodloch, wants other parents to know about the incident.

An M&Co spokesman said: “This must have been a very upsetting incident for Ellie and we’re hugely sorry.

“Thankfully, such events are incredibly rare and it’s a relief that her baby was unharmed.

“We’ve asked Ellie to send us the items to assist our urgent investigation into the manufacturer involved and we’ll keep her informed on progress.”
