The Duchess of Sussex has pulled out all the stops this evening in her most glamorous, not to mention expensive, dress so far of the royal tour.

Meghan, 37, looked stunning in a white tulle Oscar De La Renta gown embellished with black birds, custom made by embellishment designer Sarah Esmoingt.

Her breathtaking choice of gown for the Australian Geographic Society gala awards at the Shanghai-La hotel has already been hailed as ‘the look of the tour’ by royal fans on Twitter.

It’s part of Oscar De La Renta’s pre-fall 2018 collection and price is only available on application.

Celebrity stylist and designer Lucas Armitage told Femail the gown is likely to have cost around £10,000.

The Duchess of Sussex has pulled out all the stops this evening in her most glamorous, not to mention expensive, dress so far of the royal tour as she attended the Royal Geographical Society Awards in Sydney

French embellishment designer Sarah Esmoingt who is based in New York designed the striking bird pattern for Meghan’s Oscar De La Renta dress

Harry was at the event in Sydney tonight with Meghan during their 16-day tour of Australasia

As they left the ballroom , where the awards were taking place, to meet the winners, Meghan was clutching a toy wombat that she had been given for her unborn baby

While another Oscar De La Renta dress which Sarah provided a starfish pattern for costs £5,000, Meghan’s appears to be hand embellished with laser cut birds made from black bonded looped ribbon tweed.

And it’s likely the dress would have been customised to accommodate her growing baby bump, rather than being purchased off the rail.

Royal watchers have compared the Duchess’ look to the iconic style of Grace Kelly, and said the gown has definitely won the royal tour.

‘Personally I think it’s gone into my top three Meghan looks so far as Duchess,’ another added.

For tonight’s gala the Duchess teamed her dress with her trusty Aquazzura Deneuve Bow Pumps in black, and wore her brunette locks in loose waves around her shoulders.

She kept her accessories to a minimum, leaving the striking gown to shine.

The Duchess has sported designer ensembles to the value of almost £70,000 during the royal tour thus far, and this latest creation pushes the total up to almost £80,000.

And it looks like the total worth of her wardrobe could hit the £100K mark by the time she flies home next week.

Royal fans have hailed Meghan’s Oscar De La Renta gown as the standout look of the royal tour of Australia and New Zealand

Pregnant Meghan has been showcasing an array of glamorous looks by high end designers such as Jason Wu, Brandon Maxwell and Roksanda.

That’s not to mention pricey accessories such as a Gucci handbag and designer sunglasses with the Duchess sporting three pairs of shades worth £590 in as many days.

Although some items such as shoes and accessories like her Birks sapphire and diamond earrings aren’t new purchases, almost everything else the Duchess has worn is new for the tour.
