Lottie Moss, Kate Moss’ sister, apologizes over ‘super-spreader’ joke

Lottie Moss, the 22-year-old sister of supermodel Kate Moss, issued an apology Monday after making a “super-spreader” joke amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I just wanted to come on here and say I am so sorry for saying I was a super spreader — someone on the live popped up saying those words and I repeated them as a joke because I am not and would never condone spreading a virus as serious as this,” Moss wrote on her Instagram story.

In an Instagram Live posted over the weekend, Lottie was seen on camera getting close to friends as the group said, “We’re super-spreaders.”

“I was out for dinner with 4 friends 3 of which are in the same household and under the government guidelines — as I live alone — I am allowed a support bubble of 4,” Moss continued. “I understand this has upset and offended a lot of people and I wanted to apologize for making such an insensitive joke.”

Moss, who is the daughter of Peter Edward and Inger Moss, added she is “still young and dumb and learning.”

“I sometimes forget that I am a public figure and during these crazy and uncertain times I should have been more careful with my words,” Moss said.

There have been over 1.8 million total COVID-19 cases in the United Kingdom, according to BBC, and 64,170 total deaths.
