Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo’s second wedding details from the date to luxury venue

Made in Chelsea stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo surprised fans when they tied the knot on Friday in London.

Following their engagement in December 2021, the couple launched a podcast titled Nearly Weds, where they shared their journey to the altar.

Throughout their engagement, Sophie and Jamie have always talked about getting married abroad and have confirmed their wedding will take place in Spain.

But first, the couple had to make things legal in the UK.

Now, after a stunning civil ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall in London, the pair are gearing up to celebrate their love with one huge party in Marbella alongside their nearest and dearest.

Jamie confirmed their European ceremony is happening next month as he poked fun at a negative comment he received about the wedding.

Commenting on one news story about their London bash, a person called Heidi wrote: "I also can't wait for the wedding. I don't follow either of them on any platform, don't watch them on TV, have zero interest in them and yet I cannot escape this wedding.

"It's everywhere and I'm sick of it, so bring on the wedding, have an amazing time and move on, please!"

Jamie hilariously replied, "Forgot to tell you Heidi… We have our big wedding in Spain in May. The London one was just the registry office… Sorry, you have to wait a little longer."

Here are all the details we know so far about their second wedding…

The date

Sophie, 28, accidentally revealed the date of their wedding when she appeared on Good Morning Britain with fiancé Jamie, 33, where the slip-up was made.

She made the error as host Richard Madeley asked: “When are you getting married?” to which she responded: “May 19th —” before gasping at her mistake.

Appearing shocked, Jamie, sat beside his fiancée, said: “I can’t believe you’ve…”

“May, next year,” Sophie confirmed again.

Sensing the tension, host Kate Garraway said: “Oh my god, was that a secret?”

“I just outed it! Surprise!” Sophie announced laughing.

Jamie, still astounded, added: “I can’t believe that! We did the podcast, and I said ‘can I say [the date]?’ and she was like ‘if you tell the date of our wedding on the podcast, I’ll never speak to you again’ — We come on live TV you say it!?”

The venue

Speaking on his other podcast, Private Parts, Jamie admitted to co-star Alex Mytton that he and Sophie were considering a number of locations, with a New Year's Eve Cape Town bash even on the cards.

However, this idea never came to fruition, but eventually, the MIC stars told fans that they’d settled on Seville in Spain.

But these plans soon changed as well, and the couple later confirmed that they’ll actually be getting married at the luxurious Marbella Club. The venue is a five star hotel, complete with spa facilities and its own private beach.

The dress

Back in August last year, Sophie opened up about her wedding dress, including who is designing it.

Custom wedding dress designer Emma Beaumont is in charge of the ensemble. She’s known for her bespoke designs and one of a kind dresses inspired by the bride.

At the time, Sophie hadn’t actually seen her dress in person, revealing: “If I’m honest I haven’t actually seen the dress or tried it on. I’ve got a lovely lady Emma Beaumont making it for me, and we’re yet to get a date for when I try it on.”

While we still don’t know the exact details of the outfit, Sophie revealed to MailOnline that she’ll be changing twice on the day, first wearing a wedding dress before swapping into an evening one.

The bill

For those who don’t know, Sophie’s parents have plenty of cash to splash. Her dad Patrique is a company director of two London-based businesses, and her mum Sarah is the director of a property management company.

When speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the Dish podcast, Jamie revealed that his fiancé’s parents would kindly be footing the bill.

“I want the big wedding,” he said. “And her parents are paying for it. It’s a great combo.”

The bridal party

Jamie has revealed he asked fellow Made in Chelsea cast member Spencer Matthews to be a groomsman. He has mentioned he will have more than one best man – one of whom is thought to be fellow MIC star and his podcast co-host Alex Mytton.

In an unconventional twist, he'll also have a 'best woman', his best friend Georgie LeRoux. Jamie was Georgie's Man of Honour at her wedding last year.

Sophie has also confirmed her bridesmaids. At the ceremony, she’ll have her sister Georgia, her best friends Chrissy and Bella, plus another Made in Chelsea star, Melissa Tattam.

As well as the couple’s inner circle, there’ll be plenty of other famous faces attending the event, too. From more MIC alumni, including Millie Mackintosh, Caggie Dunlop, Hugo Taylor and Oliver Proudlock. The couple will have also invited Jamie’s Strictly pal, Giovanni Pernice.
