A STUNNING luxury mansion with a £5million price tag hides a surprising James Bond-style secret worth £500,000 beneath the ground.
The impressive waterfront five-bedroom home in one of Sydney's most lavish suburbs features a "mesmerising" 25m tunnel that took miners half a year to carve out.
Despite living in the house for more than 40 years, owners Robert and Wendy Procter decided to fork out more than £500,000 four years ago for the impressive feature.
The tunnel – accessed through the double garage – boasts its own underground gym and a lift bringing them to both levels of the home, which itself includes a heated pool and glorious views taking in the Opera House and city skyline.
And it's been hailed a "game-changer" by the couple – who have put the grand mansion on the market for an eye-watering £5million, having paid just £151,000 when they bought the home more than four decades ago.
Jacqui Rowland-Smith, of Di Jones Mosman estate agent, says the tunnel has been leaving potential buyers open-mouthed.
"It’s very James Bond and high-tech,” told realestate.com.au.
“You come out of the garage and walk into the tunnel, the lights come on and there’s music. It’s mesmerising.”

The Procters hired several miners from Lightning Ridge to create the tunnel, with the workers moving in with the pair for the lengthy project.
But as if the tunnel isn't enough of a wow factor, the property also features a main suite with its own sun-drenched balcony and ensuite, plus three additional bathrooms.
And there's plenty of opportunity to enjoy the glorious weather, as the huge kitchen leads to a garden with a barbecue and entertainment area – as well as a heated pool and spa, sundeck and pond water feature.
It comes after a luxury mansion – perched almost 1,000 feet above a desert floor fitted with swimming pools and even an indoor shark tank – hit the market.
The sprawling villa built into a mountainside in Palm Desert, California, boasts incredible views from every room and offers "a world-class resort lifestyle" – all for a whopping £36 million.
But the sky-high price will buy you what listing agent Steve Frankel of Coldwell Banker Realty describes as "your own private resort" – complete with waterfalls and a pickleball court.
It even features a private office carved into the rocks like something straight out of a James Bond movie.
Designed by Coachella Valley architect Guy Dreier, the impressive home features three pools, seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and six kitchens as well as a slew of other amenities.
