Did Coldplay just change their name? Hear their new song as Los Unidades

That may be Chris Martin singing on Coldplay’s new song “E-Lo,” featuring Pharrell Williams and the Memphis rapper Jozzy — but the band’s name doesn’t appear next to the track.

That’s because “E-Lo” is credited to Los Unidades, a new name under which Coldplay released the track.

Parlophone, Coldplay’s record label, announced Los Unidades as a “new signing” on Twitter Monday, featuring a blurry picture of the band with a message at the bottom reading “Y02LPAC81ODL,” which un-scrambles to read “Coldplay 2018.”

At least the shake-up is for a good cause, with “E-Lo” leading the new four-song EP “Global Citizen EP 1,” a new release curated by Martin out Friday that supports the organization’s advocacy efforts to end extreme poverty.

Martin also serves as the curator of Global Citizen’s annual music festival, with the 2018 concert featuring Janet Jackson, the Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Cardi B and more.
