Colleague fancies me but he becomes so shy when I come close to him

DEAR DEIDRE: A GUY at work is giving me all the signs that he is in love with me, though he hasn’t talked to me about how he feels.

I’m a woman of 26, while he’s 29. He seems confident at a distance but becomes shy when I come close to him.

He smiles at me but acts serious when other people are around. Then he winks at me when others aren’t looking.

Once he shook my hand for what seemed like ages. I didn’t let go, either.

He put his hand on my lower back as I left his office once, too, and he can’t seem to make any eye contact with me. Do you think he’s in love with me?

He hasn’t said so but I think actions speak louder than words. How do I approach him?

DEIDRE SAYS: It might be shyness holding him back, so if you like him make contact with him, perhaps through social media.

Say you would like the chance to get to know him better and suggest meeting up for a drink. All the signs are there that he likes you.

There is always a risk he will say no but you will never know unless you ask. And at least you will know where you stand. Good luck.
