The young boy from Tennessee was in his martial arts class at the time. Unaware of what was about to happen, Luca Cesternino had had his vision blocked due to a black and white bandana having been tied over his eyes. And, in the video posted by ABC News, the young boy performed some of his martial arts moves against his taekwondo instructor. However, soon, Luca unknowingly changed opponent.
His instructor stood aside, with Luca’s dad, Army Staff Sgt. Rob Cesternino, stepping into his place.
His identity still hidden, the father sent a message of encouragement to his son.
“Keep it going,” he said.
And, after an impressive performance, the surprise was soon unveiled.
The clip changed to a later shot of the sparring match.
Much to the shock of the youngster, Rob teased: “Come on! Is that all you got?”

Recognising the voice of his father, Luca exclaimed: “Daddy?”
He rushed to pull off his gloves and move the blindfold away from his eyes.
Able to see once again, he realised his dad, who had been on deployment with the National Guard, was standing before him – still in his Army uniform.
According to ABC affiliate WKRN, the youngster had no idea that his father had returned home yet.
His face a picture of shock, the boy leapt towards his dad to embrace him.
Finally reunited, the pair hugged one another close, as onlookers in the room erupted into a round of applause.
Speaking to WKRN, Staff Sgt. Cesternino said: “He had to shoulder everything when I was gone.
“There was no help. He and Leah [Luca’s mother] did it all with the help of an amazing, amazing community.”
Another emotional video which went viral is the short film Love is a Gift, which was created by videographer Phil Beastall.
The poignant piece of work was created on a tight budget, namely less than £50, and racked up millions of views back in November last year.
