Spooky snacks, drinks and treats to enjoy this Halloween

Planning a Halloween celebration? You’ll need some suitably sinister refreshments to horrify your guests.

We’re thinking Zombie rum punch, creepy Krispy Kremes, and some very scary (alcoholic) spirits.

Or head out for an evening of gruesome grub at Pizza Geeks in Edinburgh, or truly monstrous Bloody Marys at Covent Garden.

The crust zone

Independent Edinburgh pizzeria Pizza Geeks has collaborated with Cask Smugglers cocktail and whisky bar on Waverley Mall’s rooftop to offer a special Halloween-themed menu.

Available on Saturday and Sunday, it includes the likes of Devil’s Poison soup, the Hannibal meat pizza and Krueger’s pie for dessert, with matching cocktail the Red Balloon, inspired by Stephen King’s It.

Hammer time

Bloody Drinks, the guys responsible for canned Bloody Marys, are collaborating with shellfish specialists Claw & Hammer for a limited-edition Halloween pop-up in Covent Garden.

From today until Sunday, the Bloody Bus will be parked up in the Piazza, serving up elaborately garnished Monster Bloody Marys alongside some incredible seafood.

Breath of flesh air

Get into the ghoulish groove with Beavertown Brewery’s sinister new launch. Flesh is a thirst-quenching 4.4% lager but it’s as jet-black as Satan’s heart in hue. Companion drink Bones is crisp and refreshing with added dark malt for slight bitterness.

From £2 per can — or, if you can’t decide, try the Flesh & Bones Beer Bundle, which includes four cans of each, plus a psychedelic glass, for just £20.

Spice up your life

When it comes to spooky spirits, The Bottle Club has got you well and truly covered.

Light up your Halloween party with the limited-edition glow-in-the-dark Bacardi Spiced Rum (£17.99); drink straight from the skull with Crystal Head Limited Edition Onyx Vodka (£44.99); or sip the silky and delicate Kah Blanco Tequila from a bottle designed like a Day of the Dead mask (£40.99).

Care package

Krispy Kreme’s Halloween Scaring Is Caring range is now available to buy in its stores, in supermarkets, online and via Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo, until Sunday.

It includes the Jack O Lantern doughnut, with a chocolate orange filling (£2.35), the Vampire Bat doughnut, smothered in cookie creme frosting and topped with a bat (£2.10) and a Creepy Cobweb doughnut, oozing raspberry filling (£2.35).

Try a dozen for £14.45.

The dead zone

Get close to a zombie this Halloween — well, a Zombie cocktail, at least. Funkin has launched a spiced rum cocktail in Sainsbury’s and Morrisons in a suitably black and orange-coloured can.

Made with pineapple juice and spiced rum, it’s infused with nitrogen for a velvety texture and smooth head.
