The Year of the Pig is almost upon us, and Disneyland Resort is giving guests some new excuses to pig out in anticipation.
The Lunar New Year (also called the Chinese New Year) takes place on Feb. 5 this year, and the Anaheim, Calif., theme park recently unveiled an extensive selection of new food items that will be available now through Feb. 17. All of the menu additions can be found at various restaurants and food carts in Disney California Adventure Park, which is adjacent to the original 1955 Disneyland Park.
In the all-important category of Mickey-shaped foods, there are a multitude of newcomers, including: a Chinese hot dog bun (pictured above), a Mandarin orange green tea tart with fresh raspberries, a mango pineapple pastry with a sugary crust featuring a tiny Mickey, a purple yam macaron with creme fraiche and a brush of gold, and a vegan tempeh bowl.

Some classic Chinese dishes are also available, like three-cup chicken, short rib shumai, crispy shrimp fried rice, and mini almond cookies. There are influences from other Asian countries as well with items like Korean gochujang chicken wings and a Vietnamese pork banh mi sandwich. More adventurous diners can opt for the whole deep-fried tilapia, which is available at the Paradise Garden Grill.

Park-goers can catch a buzz with Lucky Buddha beer (which comes in a green Buddha-shaped bottle) and Tsing Tao beer, along with a new specialty gin mule cocktail. There are also some new non-alcoholic beverages, including almond milk iced tea with boba pearls that burst in your mouth.
