There are a lot of people in the world who love cheese. And a lot of people who love espresso martinis.
But how many of those people would want both of these things in their mouth at the same time?
Well, now you bring these two faves together as Aldi has launched their espresso martini wensleydale to satisfy the nation’s cravings.
The festive snack – which costs £2.19 – is the booziest cheese Aldi has ever made, and it combines the best of both worlds, as crumbly cheese meets coffee liqueur.
As flavour combinations go, this one is certainly unusual. We’re not sure if it would be a match made in heaven, or a pairing from hell.
But if you’re not sold on this one, Aldi’s festive range of cheeses has plenty of other flavours that might tickle your fancy.
Aldi’s Specially Selected British Flavoured Truckles (priced at £1.99 each) launch on November 26 and include four new flavour profiles. They include a caramelised onion and rioja mature cheddar, an aromatic rosemary and truffle mature cheddar and a Jamaican-inspired spiced honey and rum Yorkshire wensleydale. A raspberries and pink gin Yorkshire wensleydale rounds off the quirky range.
Elsewhere in the cheese range you’ll find the award-winning Bombay spice and mango chutney red Leicester, which combines the silkiness of the cheese with whole spices in the chutney.
Aldi’s new Specially Selected baking camembert with sprout pesto (£2.99) is sure to delight cheese and sprout lovers alike. The sprout pesto gives the classic camembert an extra festive twist, and is perfect for dipping and dunking.
So, with so many flavours to choose from, will you be brave and give the more unusual tastes a try?
