But when will the elegant display come to life and who will be doing the honours this year? We reveal all…
When will the Regent Street Christmas lights come on?
Regent Street’s ‘Spirit of Christmas’ display will be switched on on Thursday, November 15 at 5.30pm.
It is said to be the largest light installation in the capital, with those golden angels making a comeback for the third year running.
The area will be traffic free from 5pm until 9pm so make sure you get down there early to bag yourself a prime viewing spot on the usually busy road.
Who is switching the lights on?
This year’s celebrity has yet to be revealed, but watch this space because as soon as we know, we will tell you!
As well as the celebrity guest, a host of other music stars are rumoured to be in the line-up too.
The stars will be joined by Heart Radio's Jamie Theakston and Sian Welby at the switch-on.
Last year’s event was hosted by Heart radio's Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton with performances from Paloma Faith, Clean Bandit, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe.
What should we expect?
The themed display features illuminated giant angels or “spirits” up and down the street.
Each of the 16 spirits has an impressive 17-metre wing span.
They are lit from beneath by spotlights and are studded with LED pea lights in varying shades of white, which twinkle in harmony to create a co-ordinated ripple effect along the street.
Regent Street was the first to introduce Christmas Lights to the streets of the West End way back in 1954 and is world-renowned for its impressive display.
The annual switch on signals the start of the festive season on one of the capitals most famous roads.
Shops, restaurants, hotels and bars will be opening their doors for the evening to offer treats and surprises.
