This pot of Domino’s garlic and herb dip has more calories than TWO McDonald’s cheeseburgers – and people are horrified

But it may shock you to hear that a large tub of the delicious dip contains more calories than two McDonald's cheeseburgers.

Domino's launched the super-sized garlic and herb dip in 2015 after customers complained that the regular-size pots were too small.

The big dip is 100g, meaning it is four times as big as the standard 25g pots – and packed with 675 calories.

According to the nutritional information on the Domino's website, a 25g pot of the garlic and herb dip contains 169 calories.

A McDonald's cheeseburger is around 263 calories, so scoffing a whole pot of the large Domino's dip is akin to eating two and a half burgers.

Of course, the big dip is designed to be shared by more than one person, with Domino's marketing the sauce as recommended for four.

But Domino's fans were still shocked by the news, with some taking to Twitter to share their surprise.

One tweeted: "As if the 100g pot of Domino's garlic and herb dip has 675 calories in it. Byeeeeeee."

Another exclaimed: "600 calories in a pot of Domino's garlic and herb dip – I AM SHOOK!!!"

Though some were less bothered. Beth admitted: "Just found out Domino's garlic and herb dip has more calories than two McDonald’s cheese burgers. Still gonna slap it on my pizza tho like it’s the tears of Jesus (sic)."

Abbey Everett, spokesperson for Domino’s, said: "Our Garlic & Herb Big Dip is great for sharing with family and friends, and we recommend each party size should serve at least four people. Single size pots are also available at 169 cals each.

"We’re committed to providing transparent nutritional information on our website and via our app, to enable customers to make informed decisions."

Last month we told how Domino's unveiled a brand new garlic bread pizza crust as part of a huge new range of offerings.

We also revealed the pizza chain now does a cheeseburger pizza – and we’re not sure if its gross or great.

And this is how to ALWAYS bag yourself a discount on Domino's Pizza.
