Many fans were quick to assume that Prince Louis didn’t attend the bash as he wasn’t pictured arriving at the palace – but other eagle-eyed enthusiasts claim they’ve spotted proof he WAS there.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were pictured driving to the venue with their two kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte, but the seven-month-old tot wasn’t in shot.
However, if you look closely at the car photos, there does appear to be a baby carrier handle behind Kate’s seat.
There is also a seatbelt that appears to be pulled taut, indicating that it could have been used to hold the car seat in place.
The theory would also explain why the family’s nanny, Maria Barrallo, was sat in the middle row of car seats, with Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three, sat behind on the rear row.
The handle does look extremely similar to the one that proud parents Prince William and Kate Middleton used to carry Prince Louis from the Lingo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital after his birth in April.
The annual get-together saw members of the monarchy dine at the Queen's official London home before she leaves for her festive break in Norfolk.
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton were all smiles as they attended the feast – despite a slew of reports that there is a rift between them.
Meghan is said to have worn a £140,000 designer outfit for the occasion, and selected a dress she had debuted two years ago.
Other young family members in attendance were Lady Louise Windsor, Isla Phillips, and Mia Tindall.
Prince Charles arrived by himself from nearby Clarence House, as the Duchess of Cornwall reportedly had a cold.
The Duke of York was another guest seen driving themselves to the event and his daughter Princess Beatrice arrived separately.
Also spotted arriving at the palace gates were the Princess Royal's husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Autumn Phillips, the wife of the Queen's grandson Peter Phillips, and Mike and Zara Tindall.
Despite it being barely a week until Christmas, the royals have continued with their official duties, with the pregnant Meghan Markle completing her final engagement before Christmas this week.
