A TIKTOKER has shared her clever methods for keeping her home less humid in the summer heat.
With a few affordable techniques, she showed how it was possible to keep cool without a hefty air conditioning bill.
She explained her tricks for surviving suffocating temperatures.
"Quick tips on how to keep your house cool during a heatwave," said Tamika (@realestate_t) as she gave viewers a peak at her heat-survival products in a white shirt and blue-hued glasses.
She spun around as she gave her first piece of advice, which was to switch your fan to move in a counterclockwise direction.
"Gotta push that hot air to the ceiling, and not in your face," she explained.
She insisted that putting the ceiling fan in reverse is one of the simplest ways to make the bedroom four degrees cooler.
The next step to a less sweltering home, according to this TikToker, is dehumidifying your bedroom.
"It reduces humidity by 40 percent. It will reduce the heat in your home by 24 percent," she said.
In the caption, she added that humidity makes the air feel warmer, and humid air makes it hard to sleep. A dehumidifier, then, helps cool you down.
