Spring is on the horizon, but in the meantime, we just have to cope with the chilly temperatures. Here to offer some inspiration for this in-between period is Irina Shayk, a veritable queen of street style.
Today, the model was photographed crossing a New York intersection in sleek light-wash jeans, a ribbed knit hoodie by Mango, and a roomy cream-colored, shearling-lined coat by Coach. Not to be outdone were the accessories: By Far’s Miranda croc-effect leather shoulder bag in cognac, Magda Butrym’s Urban Jungle Boots (a very apt name considering the scenario), a pair of specs, and, of course, a face mask. The look was equal parts chic and cozy—there’s no way around those concise descriptors. Especially in this era of sweats all day, every day, Shayk is showing us a great way to ease out of our drawstring trousers and fur-lined slippers, and into actual clothes.
It’s not the first time that Shayk has shown us this winning vibe. Last week, she sported distressed gray boot-cut denim, a rhinestone-embellished graphic knit sweater, black leather platform boots, and a vibrant blue teddy coat, courtesy of Max Mara.
For both outings, Shayk was accompanied by her three-year-old daughter, Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper, whom she co-parents with her former beau, actor Bradley Cooper. In a recent digital cover story for ELLE magazine, she expressed some puzzlement over the “co-parenting” label.
“I never understood the term co-parenting,” she told the publication. “When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting.”
